Roger and Stan advance

Roger and Stanislas Wawrinka advanced to the second round of the London Olympics thanks to a 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4 victory over Kei Nishikori and Go Soeda of Japan.

The Swiss missed a total of four break chances in the opening set, but secured the second thanks to an early break. They managed just the same in the third set, not giving away the advantage of an early lead after a break and wrapping up the match upon the second match-ball after 2 hours and 16 minutes.

They will now play Israel's Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram.

Well played against Denis the menace Roger!! I was a little anxious towards the tail-end of Set 1 but you came back recharged after 2nd rain break and really took control of the court. Great stuff, have a good match later in the dubs with Stanley. GO ROG AND STAN !!! xxxxxx
