Roger books spot in quarters
01.08.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1
Roger booked a spot in the quarter-finals of the London Olympics with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Uzbekistan's Denis Istomin today.
Even though Roger was not at his absolute best, he secured a clear victory today in his quest for a first gold medal in the singles. Play only started after a rain delay of over an hour. Roger found an excellent start, breaking right in the second game. But his 3-0 lead then melted as Istomin broke back and Roger had to save two break points at 5-5 to then finally go all the way, securing the set with his third set point. Another early break in the second set was then enough for our champ to wrap up the encounter after 1 hour and 21 minutes.
Roger will now play John Isner or Janko Tipsarevic in the quarter-finals.

Please stay extra focused with isner
Do not let anything get to you, rain delays,
Crowd nothing stay focused and win in two
You beat him lots before
Remember the reward the gold for being focused
Go roger
Congrats for single but sorry for double but you can't win everything especially with this kind of weather and scheduling. It seems like you have no rest at all and in single match, you looked tired. So, I hope you have rest up now and ready for Isner's serve. I'm sure it will be tough but you can do it. I believe in you but worried at the same time becoz you have just little rest till now. take care, Roger.
I have been trying hard to watch at least on my favorite athelete's matches. Anyone can help be it on the internet or TV. Please!!
