Olympic semifinals

02.08.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger beat John Isner 6-4, 7-6(5) in the quarterfinals of the Olympic tennis tournament today - bringing him just one more win away from a first Olympic medal in singles.

"Being in the medal matches, at least I'll get two shots," Roger said. "That's why I looked at this match as a final. You can imagine the relief and happiness I feel right now."

Isner's serve kept Roger working hard, but our champ eventually found a way through in the ninth game of the first set. But Roger had to keep going strong as he still had to save a break point himself before then serving out the set. The second set also proved a tight run, going into a tie-break - with Roger getting a stroke of luck in just the right moment.

Our world number one will play Juan Martin del Potro in the semis on Friday. Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray will play each other in the other semifinal.

Please forgive me these words. Because these are my doubt.
I think Roger is delaying the time of Djoko and Murray. Delay the match to tomorrow, to make them no day to rest.

It was 16:14 against Roddick. Maybe he must pay for that. I don't know. But 0:40. It is not possible mental to play next game. It is impossible.

I dont get my hopes up on break points. They make him go passive.
