Toronto 2012

04.08.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 3

Dear fans

I am very disappointed that I have to withdraw from Toronto as I love the city and the Canadian fans are amazing. I have always enjoyed playing there but after a long stretch of tournaments, I will need some time to recover. I look forward to coming back to Canada next year.

Yours,

Roger

First of all, congratulations for you silver medal. That one represent a GOLD for me because you deserved it. It is sad for me to know you will not be playing in Toronto. I was so excited to be able to go and watch you playing for the first time (live). I have always followed you matches on TV. You are the only one who knows when it is time to take a break, unfortunately, it came when I finally got my tickets for Roger Cup this year. Hoping to be able to watch you live some day. Best wishes.

It is wise to withdraw if you feel you need to rest. Take care of you, and we will see you in the next tournament.
Best regards,
José

*FA.BI.73* Djoko needs to win Toronto again or he will 'lose' points. In other words he has to win in order to keep the points he has at the moment. Up to US Open he has a ton of points to defend; after US Rog has a lot of points to defend (as he won Basle, Paris and WTF) last year. Rog has only 90 points to defend at Toronto so he will lose those by not playing. No 1 at end of year sort of hinges on how he does during/after US. Rog needs a good rest so it's happy holiday to him.

I was mentioning the new drugs that are not on the list, for which they dont know. As I said earlier. I hope that everything is clean. It seems that Delpo has recovered because he is much younger than Roger and that is it. But because of his win against Djokovic I couldnt belive taht Roger has no strenght. But obviously, 31 years on the back was crucial.

That's okay. you deserve to need rest after the Olympic. Take good care of your health.

Roger - your Olympic effort was magnificent - don't be disappointed with silver - you are always "gold" to all your fans. It is a privilege to support you. Have a good rest as you prepare for the US Open. We'll miss you in Toronto - but look forward to seeing you on the court when you are ready. You're the best, Roger - take care of yourself!
