Roger powers in Cincy
Roger made a perfect start into the Cincinnati Masters, defeating Alex Bogomolov 6-3, 6-2.
"It was a good match for me," Roger commented. "It was a good win. I don't know his game that well, but we played a good match. The switch from grass to hardcourt is difficult. This court is faster than Wimbledon and the bounce is really high. It was a good first round for me. It may have gone quickly and there were hardly any rallies, but I was pleased to close it out."
Roger showed an excellent display, impressing with his winners, serves (12 aces) and also approaches to the net. Our champ was able to break the Russian to take a 3-1 lead in the first set and again in the second to move ahead 1-0 and 4-1. The match lasted just an hour as Roger dominated all aspects of the match.
Roger will now play Bernard Tomic in the round of the last sixteen on Thursday. Roger clearly won both encounters with the young Australian last season.

Great job! Good luck today against Tomic and I'll be cheering for you as always! :)
Your biggest fan,

What a wonderful start of the tournament for you and how wonderful for us fans to watch you play so well. And for me in Europe, where it was in the middle of the night, it was also nice that you only needed exactly 60 minutes to finish :-)
Good to see your friend Stan also doing well in beating David Ferrer.
I wish you all the very best for your match against Bernard Tomic later today.
Joke
