Quarters in Cincinnati

16.08.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger defeated Bernard Tomic 6-2, 6-4 today to earn a spot in the quarter finals of the Cincinnati Masters.

Our champ was barely troubled by Tomic, starting with a break in the very first game and never giving away the lead but rather increasing the gap. Roger never had to defend any break points on the way to his victory today, breaking again in the second set to take a 4-3 lead and then wrap up everything nicely against the young Australian after 62 minutes.

Roger will now play Mardy Fish (ATP 20) - he has won 7 of the 8 matches against the American so far.

Is it the case that if Our Champ retains World No.1 by reaching at least the Final of Cincy, then he will only meet ND or AM in the Final of US Open?

IMO...Federer is more fit to this kind of surface than the second week grass, especially of Wimbledon Olympics where that wasn't a grass court. He has more chances to win in these conditions, like ASRAF11 said, poetry in motion.

Please powers that be, broadcast the final on Swiss TV!

It all sounds wonderful to me.it sounds as if Roger has gone from grass to hard court without any problem. Congratulations and good luck to the next. Remember, fishes can be slippery, don't let him get a way! Go on Roger, go for it!

Dear Roger
Congratulations! You are in QF and you really deserve it playing well enough to win yesterday's match. You said it well, your opponent had some chances aber he did not use them. Hope you are healthy and fit enough for your next opponent! The American will have the crowd behind, but I hope you'll do your best and win! can't imagine anything else!
Wish youu all the best and good luck dearest Roger!
Go, Roger, goooooooooooooo!
Love, Mimi
