Cincinnati final

Roger defeated his friend Stanislas Wawrinka 7-6(4) and 6-3 at the Cincinnati Masters today.

Roger closed out the match by breaking Stan's final two service games. Roger was 0-for-8 previously in the match in break opportunities, while Wawrinka failed to convert either of the two break chances he had.

Roger and Djokovic will face each other for a 28th time, with our champ holding a 15-12 edge, even though Roger lost six of the last eight matchups. But Roger took the last meeting, a four-set victory on the way to his seventh Wimbledon title.

 

Thanks to today's victory, Roger already secured the number one spot in the world ranking until the end of the US Open.

Congratulations for another win today. more sucess in the future. wish you play more tennis. without you seeing play looks like i have no way out to pass my day. unfortunately I cant watch your game because its not telecast in the US for final. I've just watched patiently on live scores .It's not the same watching live.But anyways you won it. thanks to your family and team as always. LOL TESSDEL

Still No. 1 l- yea you beat the Chokey. Of course I didn't see it because CBS and Baltimore Orioles preempted for their baseball game. I shot off quite a few angry emails and tweets. Even called the TV station - so upset, I cried. Getting the DVD from someone else so I can see you trounce him -- 20 minutes for the first set - that has to be a record. OH, Roger so Happy for you. Good luck in NY this bodes swell for you.
