Cincinnati final

18.08.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger defeated his friend Stanislas Wawrinka 7-6(4) and 6-3 at the Cincinnati Masters today.

Roger closed out the match by breaking Stan's final two service games. Roger was 0-for-8 previously in the match in break opportunities, while Wawrinka failed to convert either of the two break chances he had.

Roger and Djokovic will face each other for a 28th time, with our champ holding a 15-12 edge, even though Roger lost six of the last eight matchups. But Roger took the last meeting, a four-set victory on the way to his seventh Wimbledon title.

Thanks to today's victory, Roger already secured the number one spot in the world ranking until the end of the US Open.

OH waoh! If you blink you will miss it. Roger is serving for the first set at 5-0, they have played for only 15 minutes. Djoko is so flat that I guess if he loses this match, he would cite fatigue from all the matches that he has been playing right or that he has been sick for a few days the same excuse he used when he lost to Roger at Wimbledon. Go Roger this cup is yours leading to the US Open. 6-0 first set to Roger.
