Cincinnati final

Roger defeated his friend Stanislas Wawrinka 7-6(4) and 6-3 at the Cincinnati Masters today.

Roger closed out the match by breaking Stan's final two service games. Roger was 0-for-8 previously in the match in break opportunities, while Wawrinka failed to convert either of the two break chances he had.

Roger and Djokovic will face each other for a 28th time, with our champ holding a 15-12 edge, even though Roger lost six of the last eight matchups. But Roger took the last meeting, a four-set victory on the way to his seventh Wimbledon title.

 

Thanks to today's victory, Roger already secured the number one spot in the world ranking until the end of the US Open.

Yes, Roger! Bravo, not only on your victory against Stan and for securing the #1 status! Take what's at hand, and/or have a longer outlook. You rival has a few Achilles' heels. A hard scrabble to the top may have cost them. Go with your plans for pacing, peaking, so important for this season! Keep in touch with your self-belief; stand your ground.
