Cincinnati final

Roger defeated his friend Stanislas Wawrinka 7-6(4) and 6-3 at the Cincinnati Masters today.

Roger closed out the match by breaking Stan's final two service games. Roger was 0-for-8 previously in the match in break opportunities, while Wawrinka failed to convert either of the two break chances he had.

Roger and Djokovic will face each other for a 28th time, with our champ holding a 15-12 edge, even though Roger lost six of the last eight matchups. But Roger took the last meeting, a four-set victory on the way to his seventh Wimbledon title.

 

Thanks to today's victory, Roger already secured the number one spot in the world ranking until the end of the US Open.

It must have been difficult playing your friend/countryman and Olympian team mate of 2 weeks ago. IMO I thought that it was the best that he has played against you therefore congratulations on your win.For the first one and half sets it appeared very close with excellent shot making from both players--perhaps a few more from yourself in the key moments.
Interesting that the scoreline same as with Mardy Fish match but in reverse for the sets. Netplay very good 18/20.

Congratulations Roger on still being no 1 you well deserve it.
Now today you must play very very well as Novak is on form but you know you can beat him so just go for it you are a much better player than him your tennis records prove that.Good luck love Helenxxxxxx
