Cincinnati final

18.08.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger defeated his friend Stanislas Wawrinka 7-6(4) and 6-3 at the Cincinnati Masters today.

Roger closed out the match by breaking Stan's final two service games. Roger was 0-for-8 previously in the match in break opportunities, while Wawrinka failed to convert either of the two break chances he had.

Roger and Djokovic will face each other for a 28th time, with our champ holding a 15-12 edge, even though Roger lost six of the last eight matchups. But Roger took the last meeting, a four-set victory on the way to his seventh Wimbledon title.

Thanks to today's victory, Roger already secured the number one spot in the world ranking until the end of the US Open.

Show him who is number one Roger, we know it is you, but does Nole?! I think he needs reminding who is the genuine no 1, and it isn't him!! It is on TV, so I will be able to watch and cheer you on Roger. Looking forward to seeing a lot of magic from you Rogi. Oodles of luck and focus.

CONGRATULATIONS, ROGER! What a great match! And good luck with Djokovich! He might be "dangerous", but, really, I don't know if he knows who is he playing! After all, you are the best tennis player off all times! GO "THUNDER" ROGER! (Yeah, I do believe that AC/DC song ""Thunderstuck" it's a good way to describe the upcoming match, because you can just make Djokovich "thunderstrucked" by your good shoots!)

That match seemed to be tough for both of you. I'm soo happy that you are the one who made it through.

Can't wait to see your final against Novak. Good Luck!!!

Well done Sir.
But still you're failing to convert your break point opportunities. Don't know what your coach has plan for that. But against top players like Nole, if you don't convert those gifted break point opportunities, no one can win. Hope you'll have some strategic plans for this.

All the very best and want to see you win today :))
