Title no. 5 in Cincinnati!

Roger swept Novak Djokovic aside 6-0, 7-6 (7) today for a fifth title at the Cincinnati Masters. Roger has now also tied Rafael Nadal for the most Masters titles with 21.

"Breaking a record - always something special when that happens," Roger said.

Roger was extremely efficient today, making three out of his four break point opportunities in the opening set, not dropping a game himself. The second set was a closer issue, but Djokovic was unable to force a break point so the two took the set into a tiebreaker - with Roger claiming it nine points to seven.

This is a great boost for Roger ahead of the last grand slam of the season in the U.S. Open which starts on August 27th.

My direct message to PRAJJI NEO of India, remember ur mssge when RF lost to Nole in RG? That you suggest him to retire now gracefully, that you are convince the RF is not the GOAT, that RF is just a pretty ordinary to NOLE and RAFA, and his 16 GS would not be possible if NOLE and RAFA are already there at the beggining.. Maybe nxt time we shud clearly chk our words for u might ends up eatin ur own words and making a fool out of urself..

Dear Roger:

Congratulations!!!!!!!! I think that Djoker is still stung with the way you play in Cincinnati …. No doubt, you are the one who will lift the trophy in NYC and you will be getting your 18th GS !!!! and thank God I’ll be there with one or two of my children to celebrate !! I just can’t wait to be there !!….

You are the best now and forever will be. I am really really happy and so proud that you have won the Masters of 1000 in Cincinnati for the fifth time. You are doing a great job this year. It felt like we have Roger back in the earlier years unbeatable. I hope that the US Open will be also yours.
