US Open draw

The US Open 2012 starts next Monday. Roger will meet Donald Young (ATP 80) in the opening round. Roger has never played against the American - who has only won two matches this season - so far.

Roger and Andy Murray wound up on the same side of the draw and could meet in the semifinals for a rematch of their recent finals at Wimbledon and the London Olympics. But before that, Roger could meet Björn Phau (ATP 83) in round two, Fernando Verdasco (ATP 26) in round three, then Gilles Simon (ATP 17) and later Tomas Berdych (ATP 7) in the quarters.

Roger has always reached at least the semis of the US Open since 2004. And even before the tournament has started, our champ has broken yet another record: he is the number one seed for the 23rd time at a Grand Slam tournament - once more than Pete Sampras.

there is no such animal as an easy draw. one great lesson from mr. lucas rosol. anybody can play the match of his life if only for once in his life. even donald young (#80) who is 2-22 this year. but you already know this better than anybody. as you said in your interview your recent play makes you feel self assured that you can dictate who wins but you could also be gone after the 1st match. that is seated in reality. here is hoping no rosols pop up in your draw. good luck. luv ya much.
