Roger stunning in opener
Roger produced a great display in the opening round of the US open, dismissing Donald Young (ATP 81) 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.
"I think it was a good start in difficult conditions," Roger said. "He was a talented opponent and I'd never played him before but it was good."
Our champion did not get distracted by the windy and humid conditions at Flushing Meadows, clearly dominating the match and making it clear that he was aiming for a fast first-round victory.
After 3-3, he took all further games in the opening set. Improving even more, the second also went onto his account with ease 6-2. Young did manage a break in the thrid set, but Roger finally secured the match upon his third match-ball after 94 minutes of play.
Roger will now play Germany's Björn Phau (ATP 83).

Keep going, I hope you feel healthy and strong, be confident and focused in your objectivo. I wish you best luck in your next match against Vardasco. Go on MAESTRO you are Nr. 1.
BIA – BRASIL :)
ME ALEGRO MUCHO DE ESTE ESTUPENDO TRIUNFO CONTRA PHAU, JUAGASTE MUY BIEN SOBRE TODO EL TERCER SER, FUE MAGNIFICO. SOLO UNA COSA ROGER, HAY QUE MEJORAR UN POCO TUS SAQUES Y COMETISTE ERROR ESCUANDO DEFINIAS EN LA RED.
PHAU ES UN JUGADOR QUE SE MUEVE BASTANTE, TOMA ESO EN CUANTA PARA TU PARTIDO CONTRA VERDASCO, ME ATREVO A DECIR ESTAS COSAS PORQUE ES LO QUE VI, Y ESPERO QUE CONTRA VERDASCO NO COMETAS ESTOS ERRORES. SE VIO QUE ARRIESGASTE BASTANTE, EL MARCADOR LO PERMITIA.
BIEN HECHO!!!
