In round three with ease
31.08.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1
Roger cruised into round three at the US Open with a very clear 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 victory over Germany's Bjorn Phau today.
“It was a great match for me,” Roger said after the match. “Bjorn had some incredible shot-making."
Top-seeded Roger needed only 90 minutes to close out the match and showed glimpse of his abilities to outclass Phau in their fourth encounter. He finished with 44 winners to 16 for his overmatched opponent and also with 15 aces.
Roger will play Spain's Fernando Verdasco in the third round on Saturday and said: "The next match with Verdasco will be another tough one. He’s a guy who has been around a long time and had some big wins. He’s a lefty, so that makes things different.”

It is always so exciting to watch you match ! You had fantastic shots with Phau and we are looking forward to seeing todays match with Verdasco. Pls be merciless.
Have to say one thing: I love when you sign in the TV infocus and smile at us!
GO ROGER CHAMP ! YOU'RE FIRST BY ALL STANDARDS !

Grace.
Hope you are healthy and fit enough for your next opponent! We all know it could be a tough match, but I think you'll manage to win it in straight sets!!
Wish you all the best and good luck dearest Roger!
Go, Roger, gooooooooooooo!
Love, Mimi
I understand that you can't really play that well against left handed players but when you feed loose balls in front of these fire power lefty players, what can you expect??? It's the same thing, you play Nadal or play Verdasco, they are the same style players, except Nadal has extra power!!! You better find his weakness and capitalize on it!!! Good Luck! but please, focus on 100% serve.
