In round three with ease
31.08.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1
Roger cruised into round three at the US Open with a very clear 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 victory over Germany's Bjorn Phau today.
“It was a great match for me,” Roger said after the match. “Bjorn had some incredible shot-making."
Top-seeded Roger needed only 90 minutes to close out the match and showed glimpse of his abilities to outclass Phau in their fourth encounter. He finished with 44 winners to 16 for his overmatched opponent and also with 15 aces.
Roger will play Spain's Fernando Verdasco in the third round on Saturday and said: "The next match with Verdasco will be another tough one. He’s a guy who has been around a long time and had some big wins. He’s a lefty, so that makes things different.”

A pleasure to watch, even between 1:30 and 3 a.m. (slept so just 3 hours last night)
Bjorn Phau is a speedy runner, looked like ASTERIX (with his short legs turning at high velocity), did all what he could and featured a great match, but very often you had a better answer.
2 players with a similar backhand style was delightful to watch! Really FUN, thanks!
And best of luck for Verdasco match.
You are always in my prayers. Love and kisses
Asad

Go Roger!
