Roger walks into last eight
03.09.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1
Roger advanced into his 34th consecutive Grand Slam quarter-final today as Mardy Fish had to withdraw from their US Open match due to health issues. Fish has been experiencing heart-problems and had already taken a two-month break from the Tour beginning of this year.
The walkover stretched Roger's record for quarter-final Grand Slam appearances in the Open era to 38, three short of the record 41 by Jimmy Connors.
Roger will play his quarter-final against Tomas Berdych on Wednesday. Our champion has won 11 of their 15 encounters so far.

P.S. To longtime friends of you also.
TOO BAD THIS LOSS, I WAS HOPING YOU COULD DO THE SAME AS AT WIMBLEDON. THOMAS PLAYED A VERY STRONG MATCH, AND YOU WERE LIKE LOST; I SAW THE FRUSTRATION IN YOUR PLAY AFTER THE LOSS OF THE FIRST SET.
HOWEVER, I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON. YOU ARE THE BEST OF ALL AND WILL REMAIN LIKE THAT FOR VERY LONG.
YOU ARE A REAL MAGICIAN OF THE RAQUET
COME ON ROGER!!!!
Although you lost the match and the US Open is over for you and for us,
(your fans) WE ALL LOVE YOU ALWAYS !!!!!!! You are our "everything"
you are my inspiration Roger - FOREVER #1, Champion of the Champions.
Now, go and enjoy with your cutest twin daughters and beautiful wife,
Enjoy yourself, take a break and then get back to your trainings for
future tournaments and I believe in you to give us more happiness
with your beautiful tennis.
GOD BLESS
