Roger out in quarters

Roger could not make it past Tomas Berdych in the quarters of the US Open, losing 6-7(1), 4-6, 6-3, 3-6 to the world number 7.

"So many moments, I thought, ‘Man, it’s just not happening for me,'" Roger said afterwards. "It was just a very disappointing match for me."

Berdych absolutely controlled the opening-set tiebreaker and then he broke to begin the second set. Roger fought back in the third set and finally found his rhythm. The critical point came late in the fourth set: Berdych's broke Roger to take a 5-3 lead. At that point, all Berdych had to do was hold serve - and he did.

For the first time since 2003, Roger is not going to participate in the U.S. Open semifinals. Still, he will remain world no. 1 until after the US Open.

Sorry for your tough loss, Roger. But it’s ok. We do believe that you will come back ever stronger and be crown at US again. Sometimes, we have to thank those failures that allow us to see how much you've created very fine & fabulous tennis even more. So dazzling to watch you play, Roger.
Thank so much for love & devotion for tennis. Your tremendous works mean a lot for tennis world. And we are so honor to witness it.
Go Roger Go. We do have faith in you, Champ.

Roger should take no notice of the media, especially the British media- they are always hounding him! One defeat and already they are burying him! at their peril I say! RF has proved them all wrong time and time again! This year's US Open has lacked sparkle with hardly any decent mens matches because Roger only played 3 rounds. I think today's Ladies Final was far more interesting than tomorrow's Mens Final is going to be without Roger in it!

I am still trying to get used of the fact that you are out of this major, however, with my mind rested and the fact of the defeat already processed I realized that this year in the match that you were most off(this last one by far) you managed to win a set and fought in the others, last year with Nadal in Miami you were off and it looked like you were a novice, this is good news. Specially knowing that once you are off is really hard for that to happen again soon, the rest of the year is yours

@BELIEVE1. True. Actually they know that majority of the tennis fans are not interested in whats happening in others life/career. So they force them selves to write bad about federer knowing that they're wrong.

I can never understand why they always go for Roger. He has had a brilliant year, he has regained number one and then he has one very odd match where nothing worked. We are talking about how nice it would be if Rogi gets to 300 weeks at No.1. Now that is one amazing winning streak! In all these years. despite fitting in having a family, he still only dropped to no.3 at his low point, that is quite an achievement for a human being in any field. He has been so consistent for so long.

I wish roger was in the final against Djoker but not ment to be. They probably will meet in shanghai. I like his Lindt commercial. He should start cheetin on his wife with those two girls if he hasn't. Them girls sure were looking for "racket".
