Roger-Stan lose in doubles

15.09.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger and Stan Wawrinka were defeated by Robin Haase and Jean-Julien Rojer 6-4, 6-2, 5-7 and 6-3 in the doubles of the Davis Cup World Group playoff.

Switzerland thus only leads by one point (2-1) in the rubber against the Netherlands. The Dutch pair dominated the Swiss team in the first two sets before Roger and Stan rallied to take the third on the outdoor clay court. Haase and Rojer broke Roger's serve in the seventh game of the fourth set and broke Wawrinka to seal the match.

Roger will play Haase in reverse singles on Sunday and Stan takes on Thiemo de Bakker in the final match.

Hello Roger
Bad luck but was not surprised as one of your Dutch fans sent me a link to the profile of Jean-Julien Rojer--very interesting to learn that he wanted to represent Holland and is now part of the no6 doubles team in the world. It was a good match where both teams played some very good tennis .
Wishing you all of the very best for match against Haase.
Joke [Dutchlady]your wish to watch Roger play Haase has been granted!Am so happy for you.
Kindest regards

I always love seeing you winning and want you to win, but this time with Rojer born at Curacao where I live................... your loss wasn't that bad ;-)

Hello Roger,

Of course I don't like to see you lose, but this time the Dutch team simply played their best tennis which was too good for you and Stan this time. Jules Rojer showed cleary the difference between a top doubles specialist and singles players playing doubles. Excellent volleys. And Haase was much more solid than in his single the day before.
The good thing for the fans is that we get to see you play another single later today. I wish you all th very best for that match.
