Roger beats Haase to secure |Swiss Davis Cup win

16.09.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger beat Robin Haase 6-1, 6-4, 6-4 today to clinch Switzerland's victory against the Netherlands in their Davis Cup World Group playoff.

"I felt like I was always somewhat in control," Roger said after the match. Our champ was rarely troubled by the 50th-ranked Haase on the temporary clay court in Amsterdam. After only a few minutes, Roger already had jumped to a 3-0 lead. In the next two sets, he broke very early and sealed the victory and his team's return to the World Group next year after only 97 minutes.

Roger knows best how to get it done ... Everything he wins now is icing. I say: pile the icing high ! He's so young! And he's playing splendidly, and we love and support him in everything he does.

Play on, O Great One!

You have had and still are having the most successful year, Roger. Just enjoy every moment and listen for the highest right for you as you always do. Congratulations on meeting and surpassing ( for us, your supporters) your goals. Love and respect, always, kt

roger should play and win shangai , play basel , skip bercy and play WTF.
it was a different year 2011 , where roger had bad one before the basel win. then he really play all the 3 indoors with gr8 confidence.
But this year roger had won everything a human can , so wish him win shangai and skip bercy.

Great weekend Rog. I know you must be extremely exhausted after playing so much this season. Rest up for a while and come back rearing to go for the remainder of the season. I know you'll do what's best for your body. Time to open some cans of whoop-a** on Murray, Djokovic and Berdych. Murray especially, because the british media need to be taught a serious lesson. The only big two in this game is You and Rafa not Murray and Djokovic. Did I mention how much I love you Rog ? lol Take care CHAMP !

Dear Roger, I wonder what you mean by saying you are "wounded"- it saddens me to hear you use such a phrase. Hope your health is good and that your family are all well. Don't let the media play tricks on your mind- keep the faith and believe in yourself as your fans all believe in you! Something is making you rather sad this autumn- I have never heard you sound so low before- you have so much to celebrate this year!!! Lots of love and God Bless

Our Superman Roger:
Congrats to u & Team Suisse on the win. Watching u glide & slide on clay was, as always, breathtaking. Tk u for a lovely weekend. I am sure you've enjoyed it as "Swiss buddies weekend out". You say u were exhausted, but don't we fans know it, you've outrun the "energizer bunny" we're exhausted for u. I'm so happy you're giving your body & mind a good rest & restoration & you're now home with yr loveable girls in yr arms instead of a racquet.
Luv u to the moon & back
Grace
