Tennis writers' awards
07.12.2006 | Tennis
Roger and Amélie Mauresmo received the International Tennis Writers Association's Player of the Year and Ambassador for Tennis awards this Tuesday. It is already the third consecutive year that Roger has won both honors.
Our number one won a tour-high 12 titles in 2006, including three Grand Slams: Wimbledon, the U.S. Open and Australian Open. Mauresmo won her first major titles this season, at the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
ITWA also praised the players for their efforts to bring new fans to tennis and to promote the sport.

U r simply the best and the champion of champions:) Keep it up!!!
U will be better next year~~~~~~~~`
Congratulations to my two fave sportsmen. I always said the best lookin' man in tennis is a woman. Sorry Rog. Ok, you'r the second best.
You two wild and crazy guys have inspired the Fraze to play again. There is a senior's tour
Yet another well deserved award. The same can be said for Amelie. Both of you epitomize what's best and great about tennis. Hopefully, there are many such awards ahead of you. Your fans look forward to seeing your continued success in 2007.
Nice picture!
You are the reason I enjoy tennis. There is more magic coming from your racquet than from Harry Potter's wand!
