Roger wins Swiss encounter

Roger won his second match at the Shanghai Rolex Masters against his friend Stanislas Wawrinka 4-6, 7-6, 6-0. The victory means that Roger has now secured his 300th week as world no. 1!

Wawrinka had a better start into the match, capturing the first set. The second set proved a tough fight between the two friends, with Roger eventually winning the tie-breaker. In the third set, Wawrinka was unable to match Roger's game.

With today's victory, Roger set a new milestone in tennis history: he will be celebrating his 300th week as world no. 1 on Monday.

On Friday, Roger will meet Croatia's Marin Cilic (ATP 16) in the quarter final. Roger leads the head-to-head 3-0.

Congrats Roger, you did it! Stan deserved the first set, but you prevailed after. The second set was beautiful and you destroyed him in the third. A great match that permits you to walk into quarters. Cilic is good, but there will be non problem i think...So i hope you will win. Good luck and let's see. Go Roger from Italy.

This one was well earned - A big big congratulations. 300 sounds much much better than 299 don't you agree? Stan stood tall in the first two sets, didn't panic and didn't fade until the greatest of all things Tennis prevailed in the tiebreaker! It's a shame he went away so quickly in the third (A shame for him, NOT for us) - Bravo again and more power to those who don't give up.

Just fantastic Champ.Very tough match,you have been walking on the edge like many times before. Sorry for you friend Stan,he was more than good today.300 th weeks No.1,your future rivals need to start play tennis earlier to reach some small part of your records.Keep it up.Good luck in the next round Roger.

SPLENDID WIN ROGER AND 300 CONGRATULATIONS THAT YOU HAVE ACHIEVED 300 WEEKS AT NO.1 (OR ISN'T IT ACTUALLY GOING TO BE 301?)
