Roger wins Swiss encounter

Roger won his second match at the Shanghai Rolex Masters against his friend Stanislas Wawrinka 4-6, 7-6, 6-0. The victory means that Roger has now secured his 300th week as world no. 1!

Wawrinka had a better start into the match, capturing the first set. The second set proved a tough fight between the two friends, with Roger eventually winning the tie-breaker. In the third set, Wawrinka was unable to match Roger's game.

With today's victory, Roger set a new milestone in tennis history: he will be celebrating his 300th week as world no. 1 on Monday.

On Friday, Roger will meet Croatia's Marin Cilic (ATP 16) in the quarter final. Roger leads the head-to-head 3-0.

Congratulations Roger! Super happy for you and for myself. I did not have foxtel or sky sports at home. Cannot see live matches in Shanghai. When you play at 8pm in Shanghai, it is our 11pm. I stayed to watch the scoreboard and read the forum. Stan was on fire. I went to sleep when you are in second set 5/4 at ad. I could see you fought hard by the score I could see, but Stan fought back too. I was worried through the night. When I woke up this morning to see you win and secure 300th week being

I have to admit that I got a bit worried today, it was a tough match, but that makes your comeback even sweeter.
Great performance Roger and many congratulations on such an amazing accomplishment, 300!!!!!!!
I hope you win against Cilic (and Shanghai, for that matter!)

Well done Roger, subliem performance, and once more big achievement in tennis history 300e week at nr. 1, come on Roger, be strong and go on win the tournament, first up Cilic, then probably murray and djokovic, but you can do it, 22th master title
