Out against Murray
13.10.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1
Roger was defeated 4-6, 4-6 by Andy Murray in the semis of the Shanghai Masters today.
Roger had trouble with his serve on numerous occasions today, committing three successive double faults in the middle of the opening set. He did manage a re-break to make up for the loss of his opening serve to level at 1-1, but Murray secured another break to take a 3-2 lead which proved enough to capture the first set. The second set started with a seemingly interminable opening game (18 minutes). Murray scored the first break - after a 40-0 lead on Roger's serve - to again take a 3-2 lead and finally the match.
Murray and Djokovic will play each other in tomorrow's final.

Allez Roger, you are always our Number 1 :))))))))))))
winning Wimbledon, gaining the no 1 spot & an Olympic silver medal.Roger I am so very very proud of you & heartiest congratulations for the most AMAZING year, 2012.
It must have been so nice to see your 3 'girls' again and am sure that you are enjoying some relaxing time with them.
We have been rather puzzled at the no of late night matches that you have played this--seems unfair.
Wishing you all of the very best for Basel--Hopefully Goodall won't be commentating
Kind regards
Margaret
& relaxed as usual. But in spite of everything, you played your best and nothing but your best and reached the S/F. Your serve could have been better perhaps, but serves tend to have a mind of their own at times--quite frustrating to say the least.!!
For now you are still #1 player in the world, the holder of 300 weeks at #1 record and hold almost every record in the tennis books. How awesome is that AND they cannot be taken away from you. This year you have reached your goals which were

It does look unbelievably difficult but we all know Roger can turn the tables on a given day against anyone. Hopefully Roger will win Basel and Novak will be out early in Paris...
For once in my life I did not think that the S/F was a good match as both you and Andy were below par--HOWEVER Roger Federer played some superb/breathtaking shots.
I thank you for going to Shanghai to play what you wanted to do, and that was to play tennis--yes, I realise that you had media & sponsor obligations as well but ,as you often say tennis is your job.
Under the awful pre tournament worries re your safety etc ,I felt that you did not understandably appear as settled
Así se habla, dejemos atrás Shanghai, y a prepararse para defender lo que sigue y terminar la temporada como numero UNO.
Felicidades por las 300 semanas...... y contando.
Estamos contigo siempre.
Te queremos
