Roger advance
Roger came through his first round match of the Basel Open tonight 7-5, 6-3 after a tough first set against Benjamin Becker from Germany.
Roger had a sluggish start against Benjamin Becker in his first round match of the Basel Open tonight before completing a sparkling second set to win 7-5, 6-3 in a time of 1hr.28mins. Becker’s serve is a potent weapon when on song and he kept Roger at arms length saving a string of set points – including a set point in the 12th game. Roger kept coming forward though and at the 8th time of asking he broke through. Becker refused to wilt and shocked the crowd when breaking Roger in the 5th game of the second set but our champ gave an immediate response with a break of his own to love. Two games later he broke for the second time to fashion his victory.
Roger is bidding for his 6th win in 5 years – he last lost to Novak Djokovic in 2009. Roger will play either Thomas Bellucci (Brazil) or Go Soeda (Japan) in the next round.

A solid start.
Points will be deducted for adjusting schedules for next season, and you will lose the leadership position, according to the news. But never mind, you've had a successful season.
Best of luck.
All the best for your next match against Bellucci. Stay healthy and enjoy yourself at your home tourney. Let's go! We all want you to win!
Love,
A.
Keep cool and focused and you'll beat Bellucci in no time!
All the best, Champ!
