Hi Roger, I haven't come to this site for a while but I watched you play two matches this year which was absolutely marvellous. This schedule looks brilliant and I'm sure you will win another 5-6 titles next year starting with the Aussie Open. Being in Britain, we heard of all the big things Murray did this year but it was so refreshing to witness Roger at his imperious best in Wimbledon. Can't wait to see you again!

Roger's efficient and sensible schedule frees up his time to focus on recharging, training and practice in order to maximize his actual titles and ranking points. To do this, he has had to sacrifice four events on an optimum ‘potential points’ schedule -- which is World Tour Finals plus these 18 events: four Grand Slams, all nine Masters 1000 (non-mandatory Monte Carlo's 1,000 points is counted as ATP 500 event), and five ATP 500 events (including at least one 500 event after US Open).

Skipping Miami and Monte Carlo is a good move for you. So ridiculously slow surfaces! Wish you luck during the following season and I'm looking forward to see you in the R1 of Australian Open 2013!

Roger CAN win more Grand Slams and No.1 ranking with this schedule. In 2012 Roger probably would have finished No.1 if he had (a) not played Davis Cup and Basel, (b) played three Masters 1000 he skipped (Monte Carlo, Canada, Paris), (c) put less effort into Olympics (to save himself for Canada, Cincinnati), (d) played Beijing to warm up for Shanghai, (e) did more training and preparation. Djokovic is No.1 largely because he took these actions and benefits from slower homogenized court surfaces.

Smart move to choose the tournaments that are the best for you at this stage of your career. As a serious fan, I am thankful for each one that you play. I dread the day that you make the decision that your career must be over. Personally I am thrilled to see Cincy on your list since we travel the 800 miles to see you play there. Sorry for Basel as the locals must be so disappointed but only you know what your body will be able to do. Thanks for letting your fans know.

Roger: This schedule hs only one tournament less than the amount that you played last year but that tournament is miami, a really important tournament in which you are subject to win lot s of points. Not playing DOHA is a good decision because it will cut your pre-season since you will be in Dubai later due to the ehibitions. i think that if you dont play Basel, you should play Tokio or beijing to get more pints in Asia. I also think you ought to play Montecarlo, tennis world will be happy.
