I am glad you are not playing Basel though I do know it may pain you not to go there. I do hope the hometown fans will understand. You sacrified Paris for Basel but Paris is a more important tournament in reality. Besides it is awful that the tournament director deliberately leaked to the media implication you are hungry for money which is not the case. So be it. I am very happy with your 2013 schedule indeed.\o/ Yes off to 2012 we go.... healthy and happy !!\o/

It's very sensible for Roger not play Basel 500 in order to be at top form to play Paris Masters and World Tour Finals. Roger should play Beijing 500 to warm up for Shanghai Masters. To maximize ranking points, Roger should ideally play four Grand Slam 2000, World Tour Finals 1500, nine Masters 1000 (including Miami and Monte Carlo), and four ATP 500 tournaments. Djokovic finished No.1 partly because he did not play Davis Cup, but played nine Masters 1000 events and Beijing 500 (not Basel).

A nice schedule. Looks balanced. Wishing you all the best, Roger. I wonder if the money issues were behind dropping Basel.

I know Roger and his team are well accomplished to prepare a schedule but I would like these tournaments Roger should/must play.

Monte Carlo

rest choose acc to prefernce. This schedule helps him to play and accomplish few things like winning all masters once.
