Australian Open: the draw
11.01.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1
Next week, Roger will start his quest for a fifth title at the Australian Open in Melbourne. The draw results are now out and Roger got a though one.
Roger will play in the first round on Monday or Tuesday against France's Benoît Paire. In the second round our champ could face Nikolay Davydenko (Russia/ATP 40).
In the next round a meeting with the Australian talent Bernard Tomic (64) could be possible. Potential opponents in a quarter- final are Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (ATP 8) or Richard Gasquet (ATP 10). In the semifinals, Roger could play Andy Murray, who won the last Grand Slam tournament in New York in September.

Love from Canada

Roger Federer chosen as the most popular Australian Sports Icon--congratulations-- no-one deserves this recognition more than yourself.
Lastly, we were fortunate enough to be in Adelaide last week and able to watch some tennis, none other than one of my all time favourites Martin Hingis. My goodness she has not lost any of her skills, excellent net play BUT her court anticipation as good as ever--daresay I say equal to RF !!Such a joy to watch her play again.
Kindest regards
Margaret
Wishing you all of the very best for your 1st match and the AO tournament.
No draw is easy--one match at a time as we are not able to change anything [the draw]--the way it is, and you have managed many in your long career.
Thank for speaking out in support of Lleyton Hewitt--I agree with everything that you said--he has not only had more that his fair share of injuries/surgeries BUT has continued to play tennis like a true "warrior'--I am very proud of him.
Work hard, play honest, play with sportmanship and play your very very best.
If the you that, the victory will definitely be yours.
Love and respect you yesterday, today, tomorrow and for eternity.
Go get your 5th AO and 18th GS.
I love you, your fan, Kemna
Wish you good luck at AO, you are the best.
I wish you the great tournament! I hope you'll enjoy your play!
Wish you all the best and good luck dearest Roger!!!!
Go, Roger, gooooooooooooooooooo!
Love, Mimi
