In round 2 with ease
Roger opened his 2013 Australian Open quest with a straight-sets win against Benoît Paire today.
"I'm happy, he's a good player, good talent and I have not played a match this season yet so I wasn't sure and that's why you're relieved when you're through the first one," Roger said.
It was Roger's first match on the Tour since the ATP World Tour finals in London in November, and he showed no real signs of rustiness, breaking the Frenchman six times and serving solidly himself to secure a 6-2, 6-4, 6-1 win.
Competing in his 53rd straight Grand Slam, Roger is bidding to become only the second player after Australia's Roy Emerson (six titles from 1961-1967) to win five Australian Open titles. Our champ could regain the number one spot should he win this year's Australian Open while Novak Djokovic would drop out before the semi-finals.

However great result and subsequent interview court side.
good luck
and as always all my support from Uruguay
good luck for the next games!!!
I like your white short with one horizontal stripe on the back with the same colour of your shirt. Todays shorts were not that great.
Why am I complaining about that???? What else am I gonna say? Your game was perfect, nothing to complaint about there. So..................
Oh yes, Davydenko will be tough, but Roger you will win. Hope you don't get to bothered by the heat.
Six more to go. Next stop: Davydenko. It will be more difficult, but you will win !!!
Love you forever. Kemna
Felicidades, un gran partido como siempre. Una clase mas del maestro.
Vamos por el quinto titulo!!!!!!
