Roger through in three sets

Roger advanced to the fourth round of the Australian Open today with a 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-1 win over Australia's Bernard Tomic.

Roger managed to dominate the much-hyped clash over most parts, breaking Tomic in the first game of the match and ending it with a monster serve. It got a bit tight for Roger in the tie-break in the second set as his opponent came within two points of snatching the set, but our champ saw off the challenge and took the set by winning all of the following points in the tie-breaker from that moment on.

Roger will play Milos Raonic in the next round as he bids for an 18th grand slam title and fifth at Melbourne Park.

Oh the beauty! I got up at 2am to watch and was never so glad to divide a night's sleep. What a great match Roger against a brash and talented young player more than a decade your junior. You displayed all the reason's you're the greatest of all time!! Congrats and good rest before Raonic!!

Dear Roger,

Congratulations on a great performance! Both of you created some amazing shots and the atmoshpere must have been wonderful! And I was amazed at how Tomic was defending those break points, he was really playing brave tennis in most cases.

But really, with this draw there is no time to relax even a tiny little bit. Good luck against Raonic!

Roger I knew you would go in to the match and show that Tomic how the mop flops. I guess he just got a little carried away with his words about winning but you were the gentleman you always are and never put him down about it just chock it up to a 20 year that hasn't reached maturity. I haven't gotten to watch the match yet as here in the U S it was quite late but the DVR has it for my enjoyment later today.
