Roger through in three sets

Roger advanced to the fourth round of the Australian Open today with a 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-1 win over Australia's Bernard Tomic.
Roger managed to dominate the much-hyped clash over most parts, breaking Tomic in the first game of the match and ending it with a monster serve. It got a bit tight for Roger in the tie-break in the second set as his opponent came within two points of snatching the set, but our champ saw off the challenge and took the set by winning all of the following points in the tie-breaker from that moment on.
Roger will play Milos Raonic in the next round as he bids for an 18th grand slam title and fifth at Melbourne Park.
Go for the title...

Roger, please congratulate and thank Stan for me. I watched the whole match on TV and gave my full support. I really wanted him to win. He could not have driven himself more, he played until he was dead on his feet. A very entertaining match and he was absolutely amazing! Such a pity he could not find that extra point and take the match, he very much deserved to win.
I omitted to mention the wonderful clip on your Brazil trip [shown prior to the Tomic match] no wonder you were excited as we all felt tears of happiness watching it--the excitement of the young men was a sight to behold.As you rightly said 'it was though they had won the world cup" when one of them was able to return your serve. I hope that they invite you back when the tennis court is built am sure they will.

One of the marks of a great champion is that he/she continues to create break opportunities again & again--that is a great strength.IMO if it is created it is NOT a weakness--it is Roger's creativity where he works to put himself into positions where he has a chance to break--brilliance at work & fascinating to watch him do so. Not too many present players are as creative as RF.
People forget to mention that Roger is usually very good at saving important break points
You must feel SO very proud of Stan and rightly so. I did not see the match but from what friends tell me who were courtside , he played brilliantly AND his behaviour was exemplementry during and after the match--that is what makes a true champion as you have demonstrated over your long career. Well done Stan--am very proud of you.
I do not agree with those who say that you your weakness is not always being able to convert them--many reasons for this which I mentioned in my post
