Roger eases through
Our Champ opened his account in Rotterdam with a convincing win over Grega Zemlja 6-3, 6-1 in only 57 minutes. Roger is the current defending champion in this event which he has now appeared in 8 times and won twice. It took Roger only 29 minutes to get through the first set with service games that were impenetrable and he won it 6-3. The second set was no better for Zemlja and Roger was quickly up to a 3-1 lead drilling forehand winners right and left. Another weapon he employed was the odd backhand which he used sparingly but to great effect and closing out with a break in the penultimate game. This was our champ at his brilliant best. ''Hall play is different. It's warmer, so the ball flies more and it takes a bit of getting used to,'' Roger said. ''The first ones are never easy but I'm happy to be back and playing well. I've been here and preparing for a few days, but matches are always different than training"

CONGRATULATIONS
Thank you for giving your fans and me the best present, the win today.
Next is Benneteau. Extremely dangerous. Please make it to the semis.
I have tickets !!! Two down, three to go !!! Good luck.
Love you Roger. You are one handsome dude. Your fan forever, Kemna
