Key Biscayne

25.03.2008 | Tennis

Roger was handed a bye in the first round of the Masters-Series tournament in Key Biscayne and will meet either France's Gaël Monfils (ATP 65) or America's John Isner (ATP 87) in round two. A match between Davis-Cup teammates and fellow countrymen would be possible in round three where Roger could meet Stanislas Wawrinka.

Roger leads the head-to-head against Monfils as well as Isner 1-0. He defeated the Frenchman in two sets in Doha in 2006 and won against the 2.05m tall American in four sets last year at the US Open.

It is still the quest for Roger's first title this season and it would be his third one in Key Biscayne after 2005 and 2006. Last year he lost to Cañas in the round of the last 16.
