Out against Benneteau

15.02.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger was shocked by Julien Benneteau in the quarter finals of Rotterdam today, losing to the Frenchman 3-6, 5-7.

Roger did not seem his usual self, battling with ill-timed double faults and a bad rhythm in general. Benneteau secured three service breaks, while dropping just one to clearly lead the match. It was only at 2-4 in the second set that Roger finally scored a break after being able to hold serve. Unfortunately he struggled with his serve again at 5-6 and finally had to admit defeat after too many errors including another double fault.

Next up for Roger are the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, starting on February 25th.

Roger, our boy. I am always very sad when you lose, sad for you, all your efforts. Yesterday, I was particularly worried, but I know you will not say what was happening: fatigue, pain, illness. Nevertheless, just knowing in a few days we will see you again, and - most of all - having news of your trip to SA, is a joy to my heart. Have a beautiful time there, Roger, I hope you will be able to meet Mandela. God bless you, our boy.

Yesterday you just weren't yourself. But those things happen. Just a bad day or maybe a problem we can't know. I'm sure you'll be back stronger! We trust and believe in you! We are looking forward to your next triumphs that we are sure you'll make real! We know that you have nothing to prove and on the other side so many things to give! Take care of yourself, forget what happend, remeber who you are, be yourself and go to get what you own! We'll always be on your side! That's for sure! Go Roger!

Hey Master, It is a pity that you have lost, now you have more reasons to come back to Rotterdam!
But I was happy because I finally got your signature ;-)
Good luck in Dubai and this time I just turn on the tv to watch your matches ;-)

Goeie schaatsbeweging trouwens :). De volgende keer gaan we echt samen schaatsen. Trouwens dit weekend de wk allround schaatsen in Hamar, lekker voor de tv schaatsen volgen. xxx

Dear Roger
I am really sad and disappointed! I was not watching the match, just the livescores and according to them I concluded that there was another player not you! I've read that his play doesn't suit you!!!! terrible! You must have had some difficulties, maybe your back hurt you or something else? It is difficult for me to accept this loss! But I'm not important, you will lose so many points! And you are the best
tennis player, what happened to you? I'd like to know!
Love, Mimi
