Out against Benneteau

Roger was shocked by Julien Benneteau in the quarter finals of Rotterdam today, losing to the Frenchman 3-6, 5-7.

Roger did not seem his usual self, battling with ill-timed double faults and a bad rhythm in general. Benneteau secured three service breaks, while dropping just one to clearly lead the match. It was only at 2-4 in the second set that Roger finally scored a break after being able to hold serve. Unfortunately he struggled with his serve again at 5-6 and finally had to admit defeat after too many errors including another double fault.

Next up for Roger are the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, starting on February 25th.

I saw the match life, a very very poor preformance! I also saw the match vs de Bakker where he made little faults. The differance of level between the two matches was shoking. It almost seemed he didnt care.. When he went for it he broke benneteau but loses focus and gave the match away. I was wondering if hes ill, the amount of unforced errors was huge..Though to swallow these kind of results

1-My love ❤, don't be sad ok. Look not every day can be the best to play, this happens. Please stay calm and be very patient, things will start flowing the way you want them to when less expected, you'll see. Remember that every situation is temporary and that the door of possibilities never closes.

2-Focus on the positive and think constructively, you have the greatest capacity to accomplish all your goals. Don't pay attention to whoever doesn't bring you a positive outlook of things. Take them out of your way.

The people that is incapable to look on the bright side is not worthy of your precious time and attention. You deserve the best and this doesn't take objectivity or reality off of any matter.

Let go of that which is no longer serving you.

3-You hit some great shots. Beautiful backhand down the line. Love when you play indoors. This is a nice tournament and it is great to have an indoors event early in the season. You'll get it next year.

Mentalize for success, dare to dream! You can accomplish anything you want to. Believe and love yourself, have confidence!

Ouch! That wasn't quite according to the script! Such a pity for you, but there is always the next tournament - onwards and upwards! All the very best in Dubai. In the meantime, hope the SA/Foundation trip goes really well and you get to meet Nelson Mandela! Take care of yourself!

Dear Roger...thank you for giving us the great matches in Rotterdam, the last one was rare at the beggining, but you did some great shots. It hurts me wen you lost, but I know this happens sometimes. And I know you will comeback strong and motivated from your trip from South Africa.

Hi Rog, Disappointing for you, in the quager finals in Rotterdam, it just didn't seem to be your evening, there on the court against Julien B. Oh well you win a lot, and sometimes you lose the odd one. A very short break now, good luck in Dubai. Take care.
