Out against Benneteau

15.02.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger was shocked by Julien Benneteau in the quarter finals of Rotterdam today, losing to the Frenchman 3-6, 5-7.

Roger did not seem his usual self, battling with ill-timed double faults and a bad rhythm in general. Benneteau secured three service breaks, while dropping just one to clearly lead the match. It was only at 2-4 in the second set that Roger finally scored a break after being able to hold serve. Unfortunately he struggled with his serve again at 5-6 and finally had to admit defeat after too many errors including another double fault.

Next up for Roger are the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, starting on February 25th.

Tough loss, Roger. You seemed to be somewhere else tonight. Benneteau was too strong, but I hope you are not injured. Please recover mentally and physically for Dubai. lots of love to you and your family.

poor serving means roger struggles defenitley back problems just like australia and olympic final its time he opened up and came clean with the fans when his serve is in the seventies this guys nearly unbeatable.this happened acouple of years ago and it was all down to poor serving due to back issues.

And GSMFEDERER you are not a fan of Federer's it's obvious so go somewhere else to talk bad about Roger and someplace far away from tennis because you just have no idea of the sport!!!! Get out from here!

Love you always. It is good to rest for Dubai yes. I am happppy that you are healthy and playing. See you in Dubai for I shall be there attending a wedding. My classmate is getting married there. I am so happy. Love you always for sure. I shall avoid reading any media coverage for a while. I do not trust what they say. I only trust what I feel. Love from Japan

A shock for us too, but this is tennis, you sometimes take your racket out of the bag and can't understand what is happening on the court and why you can't change it. (Un)fortunately I wasn't able to watch the match today...(?)
The good news, you don't have to come back to Rotterdam next year, you can choose another place.
It will work better next time!

Too bad Rog, I'm disappointed if I'm honest. But you didn't really have your game much this whole tournament. Hope you can get your serve back before Dubai. Praying your going to defend Dubai and IW. Best of luck, hit the practice courts!

Dear Roger,

Gosh, you really never seemed to have found the rhythm in this match. And Julien was playing soo well. Nevertheless it was great to see you play, as it always is. Hopefully that loss won't affect you in any way and you will be healthy and motivated for Dubai.

Stay strong, Champion!!!

Love,
Justine

I meant to add, Roger .... I admire you so much for never retiring from a match, no matter how you feel, and never complaining. And for your absolute honesty and fair play. I hope that the whole truth about your bravery and integrity will be known one day.
This is not to take anything away from Julien, BTW, who played extremely well tonight.
