Roger rushes into the |next round

25.02.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Our Champ gave us some worrying times during his first appearance at the Dubai Duty Free Championships today. He lost the first set 5-7 to the Tunisian Malek Jaziri but then went on to win 6-0 and 6-2 in 90 minutes. Roger started really well with his first serves causing Malek a lot of trouble and yet Malek held on to break our Champ for the first set. From then on it was all Roger and he finished the match in fine style with a typical forehand down the line winning 12 of the last 14 games. Again, he is the defending champion at this tournament after defeating Andy Murray last year.

Bravo Roger!!
As long as your reason for playing poorly in the 1st set was not health/injury issue, it's fine by me, I loved what came after that!
WE WANT THE SHIP AGAIN THIS YEAR ROGEEEER, and with this victory you got us the sails.....
Focus and good luck for the next matches! Go get them King!

The match had a tough beginning, but after the first set you played much better. Well done Chap. Just go! Relax now. Looking forward to see you in the next round. Good luck! We all know that you can do it!

YSSS! Know that I was not worried: I knew that after the first set you would put in a dominant performance without trying too hard! I felt "gifted" that I could again see you on court, which is pretty fast, and it's windy, too. So far, I have been subsisting--not like on bread and water, though--on watching your prior matches! Your play was good, really good, after the adjustments you made. Keep your goals in your heart, and brook no interference wih them!
