Out against Berdych

01.03.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Sorry to say that Roger lost in the semi finals of the Dubai Open to Tomas Berdych. In the first set he was strong and positive winning 6-3, then followed a score line  of 6-7(8), 4-6 to see the match finish in favour of Berdych. The tiebreaker in the second set was back & forth with Berdych coming out the eventual winner – at one point our Champ was 5-4 in the tiebreak but could not convert this in to a set win. Berdych then upped his game and went on to win the 3rd set 6-4 helped by some untypical Roger errors. "Pity to lose that one, but Tomas did well to hang in there," Roger said. "Obviously I leave this match with a lot of regrets. "You do all the right things for so long, and then at the end you've got to explain why you didn't hit two shots decent," he said. "So it's disappointing."

I am a big fan of Federer, but in the second set Federer didn't deserved do win it, not because he wasn't good enough, Berdych lost set because of referee error. Regardind his game, he has mental problem, he priority is not anymore tennis, I think is good for him to make such a long period as a break, he needs to make tennis more important for him, and when he realize what important is tennis in his life, he will come back with hunger. It will be 2 sad months for me and for tennis fans

For those who state that you did not play well and that that you should get a new coach and other unnecessary [stupid] comments perhaps you do not realise that Roger in no2 in the world has played CONSISTENTLY at the highest level for past 13 years. has won everything on the APT tour, is married, a father of twin daughters, last week travelled to South Africa for his wonderful foundation in addition to sponsorship commitments etc--in other words he has a life which some do not have

contd: faith that you could do it and have the courage to see it through. After all, enough is enough, man. We want to see those guys smashed up, who come in your way, at least until you retire. Hehe!

Its terrible and shockingly disappointing. I think it should end, this kind of losing games. You are born to win and so you should win at all costs. forget about all the failure from the beginning of this year and all the disappointments. don't condemn yourself but learn from your mistakes and get tough. when the going gets tough, The TOUGH gets going. From now on there should be only victories and championships and nothing else. Without vision people perish. Take the attacking initiative, have

Hello Roger
Yes, it was disappointing that that you were not able to hit 2 decent shots at the end.
However, I am NOT disappointed in you--why should I be --it is a game of tennis where one can fight and fight to the end and lose--that is tennis and sport in general. You fought and fought and played a great game to the end--I am so very proud of you. NO way as a chronic fan of RF, and a player myself would I criticise you--I was not on the court with an opponent, a ball and a net.

Ciao Roger sono dispiaciuto per la sconfitta, sono convinto che quest'anno potrai toglierti delle belle soddisfazioni e battere qualche nuovo record.
Un saluto
