Out against Berdych

01.03.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Sorry to say that Roger lost in the semi finals of the Dubai Open to Tomas Berdych. In the first set he was strong and positive winning 6-3, then followed a score line  of 6-7(8), 4-6 to see the match finish in favour of Berdych. The tiebreaker in the second set was back & forth with Berdych coming out the eventual winner – at one point our Champ was 5-4 in the tiebreak but could not convert this in to a set win. Berdych then upped his game and went on to win the 3rd set 6-4 helped by some untypical Roger errors. "Pity to lose that one, but Tomas did well to hang in there," Roger said. "Obviously I leave this match with a lot of regrets. "You do all the right things for so long, and then at the end you've got to explain why you didn't hit two shots decent," he said. "So it's disappointing."

It was a tough match Roger which I thought it would be you still have a lot of trouble finishing off the break points. If you can concour that you can win anything because there is still no one to beat you when you are on form.

Dear Roger
It was not only a tough match, it was a tough day for all of us! I really hoped you could have won that one, but you had no luck at all! Shame, but today is a new day! I don't like watching you losing, but that's over now. Hope you'll be healthy and prepare well for the rest of the season. The beginning of this year is awful.
Wish you all the best and good luck dearest Roger!
Go, Roger, goooooooooooo!
Love, Mimi

@imaboygirl...Roger lost the semifinal not the 1st round and is ranked #2 for goodness sake so why talk of his retiring? Doesn't make sense. Tough luck Roger, but you still gave us some magical tennis...see you at Indian Wells...can't wait.

And we all know how mentally strong you are... After losing this type of matches... So just again think on your schedule now....

Sometimes i wonder about your strength these days.
Have you thought about your position recently?
It's the time for a change, Roger.

Maybe i'ts your back hand slice, maybe it's your career which should end.
It's not your fault Roger. You really done a great job, it's physiologic.
