Out against Berdych

01.03.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Sorry to say that Roger lost in the semi finals of the Dubai Open to Tomas Berdych. In the first set he was strong and positive winning 6-3, then followed a score line  of 6-7(8), 4-6 to see the match finish in favour of Berdych. The tiebreaker in the second set was back & forth with Berdych coming out the eventual winner – at one point our Champ was 5-4 in the tiebreak but could not convert this in to a set win. Berdych then upped his game and went on to win the 3rd set 6-4 helped by some untypical Roger errors. "Pity to lose that one, but Tomas did well to hang in there," Roger said. "Obviously I leave this match with a lot of regrets. "You do all the right things for so long, and then at the end you've got to explain why you didn't hit two shots decent," he said. "So it's disappointing."

1-My beautiful wonderful love, cheer up. The way you maneuvered the second set was fabulous, it was very close. Reaching the semis cannot be a bad thing ever, this was a good tournament. And as bitter as it may seem at the end everything sums up, this kind of situations can give you hints that you can incorporate and use in future occasions. These are just the normal fluctuations in sports, it happens and it happens to everyone.

2-You must be very patient and keep thinking positively and constructively because your time will come. Maintain an open mind and life will joyfully surprise you when less expected. The things we want the most are the hardest to get, but the harder the fight the sweeter the reward. These are exciting times with plenty of opportunities ahead. Everybody just chill out, honestly.

3-It was lovely to see you playing during this week and I look forward for what's to come. It's going to be a lot of fun! The most important thing is that you are healthy (not all the players are) and contending. And you got the 888th with unprecedented consistency and beauty, that's awesome! Tell me who can say that too?! So things are more than ok.

4-Put a smile on that beautiful face of yours, rest, relax and let go. I wanted to ask you a couple of things, but I'll do it another time.

Stay peaceful and take care my beautiful treasure. Stay in touch! See you soon.

I love you Roger...
