Out against Berdych

01.03.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Sorry to say that Roger lost in the semi finals of the Dubai Open to Tomas Berdych. In the first set he was strong and positive winning 6-3, then followed a score line  of 6-7(8), 4-6 to see the match finish in favour of Berdych. The tiebreaker in the second set was back & forth with Berdych coming out the eventual winner – at one point our Champ was 5-4 in the tiebreak but could not convert this in to a set win. Berdych then upped his game and went on to win the 3rd set 6-4 helped by some untypical Roger errors. "Pity to lose that one, but Tomas did well to hang in there," Roger said. "Obviously I leave this match with a lot of regrets. "You do all the right things for so long, and then at the end you've got to explain why you didn't hit two shots decent," he said. "So it's disappointing."

Dear Rogerrrrrrrrrrrrr,

Your performance is great considering your age and determination. However, you need more luck??? or may be you need to stay solid in crucial moments, which unfortunately was the case with Berdych instead of you. Take care, learn from bitter experiences. Good Luck, We Love You !!!

Not a good idea to post your email address on a public forum. Search engines pick up on them and you lay yourself open to spam.

Roger knows already by all the replies here we love him.

Too bad not being able to close the match but hopefully "useful" for next tournament. All the best for Indian Wells.

No regrets Roger. Age is a number, it's attitude, dedication and skill that will keep you winning for years to come. You are without a doubt the best.

You are the best !

Don't listen to the naysayers concerning age Roger-you're a young man. What sets you apart is what will get you through for nine more years-your game is intelligent and you're an artist with a tennis raquet. Many players rely on their brawn and those are the ones who drop out early. I predict nine more years and five more grand slams!

Rog: This year looks a lot like 2011, the only player that can beat a healthy djokovic is you. But to do you have to reach a Final since you are number two, a lie of course since you are always number one. Last time you blew a couple of match points was against Djoner in UO 2011 and after that you had a great mindset and went onto a 25 match winning streak. Please not only repeat but also enlarge your legacy by bettering that and winning IW and Miami and Battling hard in the clay season.

Hey Champ, hope you are relaxing and having good time with your family. Losing to Berdych/Delpo shouldn't be a surprise anymore. They have a big game and that can be neutralized only through great defense in addition to some attacking tennis. When you age, obviously your return game becomes weaker and it becomes tough to get them down just with attacking play (may work sometimes). That should explain your record with Berdych before 2010 (8-1 for you) and since then its 3-5. Just focus on IW...

It's very sad to see federer losing the match against berdych though serving for the match on his own serve. These days it seems that he is forgetting to fire an ace on the match points(crucial) which is very easy for him in the past. Sure Federer will find answers to his failures on converting match points/break points. He has to work out seriously on his thinking at the crucial stages of match. All the best.
