Madrid: the draw

05.05.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 2

The draw for the 12th edition of the Mutua Madrid Open is out.

At his first tournament on clay this season, Roger will play his first match against the winner of the match between Bernard Tomic (ATP 49) and Radek Stepanek (ATP 48). In the following round he could meet Kei Nishikori (ATP 15) before facing Richard Gasquet in the quarters. In the semis, Roger will most probably face a Spaniard - if it is not the number 5 seed Rafael Nadal, it might either be David Ferrer or Nicolas Almagro.

Hi, Rog. Good to see you back on court again! Good luck in Madrid. That was a beautiful message on facebook about Brad Drewett.

Roger, you cannot imagine the pleasure, the joy, the happiness, of just seeing you play again. The draw is what it is. If you are fit and healthy - our pray - you can and will win against everyone, and defend your title, the one and only man to win in a blue clay, wow! Gooooooo, Roger! God bless you. And thanks for being there again, for all of us.

Hello Roger,

It was nice to have a few weeks off from watching tennis, but it is good to have you back on tour again. I was shocked by the news of the death of Brad Drewett. So horrible for his family and friends. But the tennis world keeps turning and the eyes of the fans will be turned to Madrid next week. I hope the weather will be good and that your preparation will turn out to be good enough to bring the same success as last year.
I wish you all the very best for your first match.
