Roger upset in Madrid

10.05.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger suffered a 4-6, 6-1, 2-6 defeat against Kei Nishikori at the Madrid Open.

"Kei played better than I did, so the better guy won today, that's for sure. I'll sit together tonight or tomorrow with the team and discuss what the plan is for the next few days and weeks. So I'm excited for that, because clearly I have no choice but to hit the practice courts," Roger said.

Roger struggled with the conditions in Madrid as breezes and shady patches hit the court. He displayed good tennis during several phases but was not constant enough overall, battling with uncharacteristic errors. After losing the first set, he upped his game to level but lost his serve early in the decider and Nishikori broke for a third time in the match to seal victory.

Only three forehand errors and a double fault cost you the greatest match of all time which it was not. The semi at FO 2013 was more competitive but no one will call it because it did not cause an upset. For something to be out of the ordinary something that has not happened befoer must happen. And now is the time for you to prove something that has not happened as yet. You can do it for sure. And you will do it and let the world know who you are and who are your admirers.

No one would love to see Roger Federer winning huffing and puffing. I would not. Play like Roger Federer like only Roger Federer can. You are the best of our times and you should go as the best of our times. You have it in you- believe it. We all believe it. Why the hell is your second serve is being attacked-remember Stefan, your idol who had the best second delivery and you can do it for sure. Be the SMILING BUDDHA of the rest of the season and beyond. I love you Roger.

You need to bring that first serve back='Liquid Whip" as described by the Late David Foster Wallace. You need to bring those inside out first strikes back. The volleys of Edberg like precision must come back. Concentrate on your returns of serve remember that fifth set against Andy. You can do it and no doubt about that. We are pitching for SW19, USO and O2 now.
