Roger upset in Madrid

10.05.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger suffered a 4-6, 6-1, 2-6 defeat against Kei Nishikori at the Madrid Open.

"Kei played better than I did, so the better guy won today, that's for sure. I'll sit together tonight or tomorrow with the team and discuss what the plan is for the next few days and weeks. So I'm excited for that, because clearly I have no choice but to hit the practice courts," Roger said.

Roger struggled with the conditions in Madrid as breezes and shady patches hit the court. He displayed good tennis during several phases but was not constant enough overall, battling with uncharacteristic errors. After losing the first set, he upped his game to level but lost his serve early in the decider and Nishikori broke for a third time in the match to seal victory.

yeh Fancyfree ok I withdraw my comment- so you also think RN's on steroids? but he's like ARMSTRONG, PURE - RIGHT? YEH! PURE LIKE HIM.
So tell me what DOES the evidence point to? Soderling's out for 2 years with disease - you see him coming back? RN's out for 7 months and comes back like this and you suspect nothing? Everything's hunky-dory, Fancyfree? Yes?

The MF wins 6 out of 7 finals and you say it's normal? - ok let me put it in Question Form like a good journalist. Is he on drugs? Happy

Dont think it works that way in Switzerland. ATP points are for the ranking
in general and Federer is nr.3 in the world and Stan the man is ranked nr.14 or 15

Stan earned more atp points than Fed this year so on papers he is swiss no 1. You may not agree.

I know it is wrong to accuse people. For a long time I dare not say this. But the strange case of Nadal. How could it be? There must be signs. Who can come back like that with a serious knee injury among all things. Look at other players who were out with injuries . No way. I am very sure now he is on something. AND he was out not with an injury. But a planned time out to clean his system. I love tennis. He is bad sign for the sports. Cycling, Armstrong? Yes Same. I am sure now.

the more things change the more they stay the same. nadal and serena win again. same old, same old. can't believe i'm saying this, but thank god for djokovic. he is the only one that can stop nadal on clay it seems. can anyone else beat these 2. a different winner would be refreshing on the men and women's side.
