Semifinal in Rome

18.05.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Our Champ came through a much tougher test tonight against Jerzy Janowic 6-4, 7-6(2) in an hour and 25 minutes. Roger had to raise his game in the second set as Janowic broke in the first game and held through to 5–4 when Roger managed to draw level at 5-5. Our Champ then went on to 6-5 but Janowic managed to hold on to  take him to 6-6 with Roger taking the match 7-4 in the tie break. The match gave us some wonderful rallies from both men with a lot of very fine touch shots throughout. Roger was able to raise his game as necessary and contained Janowic when needed.

He now meets Benoit Paire in the Semi-Finals.

I know I made a wrong guess there, but fancyfree this is rafa, we have seen it time and time again even if rog goes up a set and a double break it isn't sealed. his chances are slim at best.

Wonder what would have happened had Nadal faced the Pole?

Nadal has had to compensate for his last two tough matches. He's out to prove a point, or two, or three and son on. lol

I'm not being harsh, but as a tennis fan here, Rafa is going to dismantle him. Remember the French 2011 Rog was in fine form but couldn't drive it home, if he loses to Rafa here, and meets him in the French its hopeless, Roger can only handle nadal on grass and indoor. Not putting roger down honestly. but rafa is the better play he doesn't miss shots yet is still the aggressor.

OAKEL123 I think your comment is out of order and I think it's better to lose to someone who is your equal. Remember Nadal also had two tough matches before today and can be vulnerable.

Nadal is going to win Rome, he is untouchable right now, Rog don't make the final
