Semifinal in Rome

18.05.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Our Champ came through a much tougher test tonight against Jerzy Janowic 6-4, 7-6(2) in an hour and 25 minutes. Roger had to raise his game in the second set as Janowic broke in the first game and held through to 5–4 when Roger managed to draw level at 5-5. Our Champ then went on to 6-5 but Janowic managed to hold on to  take him to 6-6 with Roger taking the match 7-4 in the tie break. The match gave us some wonderful rallies from both men with a lot of very fine touch shots throughout. Roger was able to raise his game as necessary and contained Janowic when needed.

He now meets Benoit Paire in the Semi-Finals.

Roger don't backhand slice to nadal's forehand because he hit the ball from the bottom to give it a top spin, slice is easy to return with his top spin forehand however it's okay to send slick backhand to his backhand. He makes more unforced errors with his backhand. attack Nadal's backhand! Nadal will slice with backhand, then attack open side of nadal to make him run, if he still return, ball is weak, you know how to execute.

Roger, you were just too much of everything: intelligence of the game, beauty, magics. Thank you, our boy. God bless you. Good luck for the SF.

Del Potro also won the US Open against ..... in 2009 and hasn't achieved another title so far ..... mmm - Won't go there! lol

Sorry OAKEL123, I just don't take to Murray or indeed Djokovic. I was at the Olympic semi finals for one match only, that was Roger against Juan Martin. I found the other semi final between Murray and Djokovic a non event.

Dear Roger, this time Rome is yours if, as I said earlier you only have to get rid of your psychological barrier against Nadal, that's all. go get it. Assuming you have already beaten Paire. Please please beat Nadal in final. My Nadal-lover friends are getting on my nerve. So please win Rome for me & for all other lovely fan of yours...please please

Have a look at the picture our Champ above. He looks more fit, younger and note that, today he'll go for the kill i.e. straight sets win.
Rafa lookout for RF on Sunday. He is definitely gonna take your breath away....

Im getting a little depressive of this talk about RF being helpless.
Altough its basicly corecct, roger has to go for it like In Hamburg and Madrid.
Rafa played not good against ferrer and Gulbis. They had there chances.

If he gets to the final i will pray for him to finally win Rome and beat Nadal, miracles do happen;) It would be so great if he actually pulls it off!

Fancyfree - The man has won a major, he isn't likeable on court however he is alright in person. He fights, he knuckles down. Just like Roger does so he deserves respect for all he has achieved. all the top guys are one trick ponies they are counter punchers and consistent groundstrokes they attack with a highier % hense why they have more of an edge on Rog. However I love rogers game and do hope he can pull Rome off :)
