Final against Nadal

18.05.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Our Champ has made it through to the final in Rome with a 7-6(5),6-4 win over 36 seed Benoit Paire to set the juices flowing with the prospect of another Nadal clash. As against Janowic, Roger was pushed by some excellent play but again showed his class on the important points. Our Champ had to overcome a break of serve half way through the first set and went on to win the tiebreaker. Roger then went in front early in the second set and never looked back.

Now comes the big one against his old rival Nadal – the way they are both playing at the moment promises another Roger - Nadal classic. "It's nice to have these revival moments for both of us," Roger said. "I'm sure we're both looking forward to it. I clearly am."

One last thing.

Andy, Novak and Rafa, you have to give this to them, they have all LOYAL fans.
8 months Rafa was gone, none of his fans told him to retire. Some fans might have been mad, but none of his fans told him to retire.
Neither did Andy's or Novak's fans when they were winning not that much.
They all stuck by their men and now they are reaping the fruits.

But unfortunately for Roger, he has an amazing fan base and also some (not all) discusting fans.

Stick with him, don't abandon him.

And if you want to get out and don't be his fans, then you are welcome to change parties and become fan of Andy, Novak of even Rafa.
And when they start to lose, then bombard them too with retirement and go seek a new player.

That is what you are good at, abandoning someone when they are at their low.

But don't worry, Roger will survive without you as fans, he will come through this and he will get better and win.

I believe in him and have faith in

If you guys have the guts to be his fan during the winning good times, you should also have the guts to be his fan during the bad times. That is what beeing a fan is all about. The good times AND the bad times.
If Roger gave you a lot of pleasure by winning, than we should stand by him during losses. We should help him get through these losing times.
He does not need his fans to tell him that he should retire. Believe me, all the fans from other players will do that job for you.

Stick with

And........ here we go again.

Roger loses and there come the comments from his so called fans about retiring.

How dare you guys? You were for sure the same people who cried that he should retire in 2011 right? If he had listened to you losers, would he have the VERY succesfull 2012 for a year??

I am hurt and disappointed. He seems low on confidence and did not want to fight.
I don't know what was wrong, but this was not his day.
LETS MOVE ON AND STILL SUPPORT HIM. We owe him atleast
