Roger rushes in round 2

26.05.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger was in cruise control mode to win his first game at Roland Garros 6-2,6-2,6-3 in 80 minutes. Carreno-Busta, a 21 year old qualifier, was considerably outclassed by our Champ - it also helped that Roger managed to have 67% of first serves in completing 10 aces in the process. His second serve was even better with a 74% success rate. A good start to his challenge for the French Open.

Next up will be another qualifier: Somdev Devvarman (ATP 188) or Daniel Munoz-De La Nava (ATP 145).

Congrats to Brands. So close, yet so far. Next time he will get Rafa.

Sugar! It was good while it lasted! Bravo to Brands though for trying he did well to get as far as he did. Another day! A nice looking guy despite the kit! especially for one so tall. Over to Rosol. I still have good feelings about Rafa going out early!
I am sure that Roger can take Rafa on especially if the court remains slowed up with the cold conditions. Come on Rogi, beat them all, show them who is the CHAMP!

Rosol will take care of Rafa;) Good try from Brands so far. Despite the lost of the second set and an early break I hope he's got something left in the tank. Winning 3 sets is very hard against rafa but we will see.

Close, but the 2nd set has gone to Rafa .....

Oh no! One set each! That goes against the play from what I have seen. Brands deserved to have won that. What a shame, but still all to play for.
