Roger wins second match

29.05.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

A 23minute first set sums up the total domination of Roger over the 188th ranked Indian Somdev Dewarman when he won 6-2, 6-1, 6-1. Our champ was able to spray shots all over the court with ease as he cruised into the 3rd round of the French open.

“I tried to finish the match quite quickly, because I was afraid it would rain," Roger said. "So I was very focused, and I'm very happy for that." As a sign of his staying power, Roger moved ahead of Budge Patty into third place on the men's list for match victories at Roland Garros with 56. Guillermo Vilas and Nicola Pietrangeli share the record of 58. “I'm happy that I was playing offensive and aggressive tennis in the first two matches," he said. "I didn't back off and start to play passive tennis and wait for mistakes. I took it to my opponent."

Next up is Julien Benneteau who could well present Roger with a much sterner test.

Oh, Roger, the match is coming and I'm nervous. Benneteau had a long match the day before, so please do not give him easy points. It's not your advantage to finish pionts early, especially please do not commit ue early. Make him run a lot, make him feel tired and make him feel exhausted, and then you may force him to make mistakes, I hope so. Good luck,Roger. Look forward to your solid and beautiful performance.

Roger has an advantage over Benneteau as Roger both his matches in a blink of eye but Benneteau played 5 sets in his last match, however Roger shouldn't take that guy lightly because he already defeated Roger twice...

Congratulation for your impressive win. Wishing you will success in setting game plans & marvelous plays to beat Benneteau in three. Be careful with his dangerous various playing styles. But believing in your master class of tennis, Roger. Always stay calm & focus to intrigue your aggressive packs of powerful precise serves + superb strokes consistently.
Shine your best, Roger. Good luck, dear.

I really don't understand what is his problem n what the heck he finds boring?? i quote him- "It was federer who started this trend. He has a superb image as a perfect swiss gentleman.I repeat that ,but i don't like the way young players try to imitate him."and he even said that d big 4 are boring.YEAH as if MR. GULBIS is like so fun to watch huh???if GULBIS thinks that taking marijuana n soliciting a swedish prostitute was not boring n highly commendable then this guy needs mental attention!!!!!

hope u enjoyed the sight from top of the eiffel tower roger.and u know what?? ERNESTS GULBIS calls the top 4 guys ''BORING''. How dare he say that n even more shocking that he said that u started all this boring trend n 2 of the top 4 consider his statement to be true!!!!!!!!!!! GULBIS even said that it irritates him when he sees younger players copying u or getting inspired by you! i mean this guy seriously n immediately requires mental attention.Well i strongly feel that he is just jealous!
