Out against Tsonga

04.06.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Unfortunately Roger lost his quarter final match against Jo Wilfreid Tsonga today 7-5, 6-3, 6-3. Our champ could only bring 58% of points on his first serve which contained no aces. Combined with 34 unforced errors there was only one way this match was going.

“This is obviously a crushing loss," Roger said following a quick shirt change. "I struggled a little bit everywhere. Personally, I'm pretty sad about the match and the way I played. Jo-Willy played great today. He was better than me in all areas . He returned better than I did, served better than I did. I struggled to find my rhythm. I'm just disappointed I couldn't put in a better match. Missing smashes goes hand in hand with missing so many other things," said our champ, who was broken six times during the contest. "Should have never gotten broken (after being up) 4-2 (in the first set). In hindsight now that's obviously a huge game for me, and things didn't go well from then on for me today."

Roger’s next contest is at the Gerry Weber Open in Halle (Germany), starting on the 10th June.

JODOUG I agree about Roger's hair cut. It makes his face look huge and sometimes old! Also he has to return to polo shirts. They are classy. Richard Gasquet changed into a red Lacoste one in his last match and he looked good in it.

brain game is the most factor..you gotta figure out the way to beat nadal in your brain by watching a lot of djokovic vs nadal games...and practice according to what you realize and game plan according to that realization...

Roger watch Djokovic VS Nadal a lot and figure out the way to beat them and what to improve. If you see this match, even though they lack abillity to make winners, they keep returning the balls without making errors. you gotta improve on returning the ball without making errors and you finish the rallies with your winners. plz improve on returning skills without making errors like them. you have more talents. it's waste of talent, if you lose to nadal

Roger watch Djokovic vs Nadal match...and figure out the way to beat them...you will get the sense that you gotta return the ball without making net errors...thats what they do. if you cannot keep up with them like that, It's hard to win...If you can keep up with his rally battle, youi can win because your natural talent of attacking is better!!!

glad to see roger playing dubs with his good friend tommy. certainly will be a good looking pair on that side of the court. although i still miss roger's beautiful curly tresses, he's still cute. but please roger bring the hair back. it is so you. good luck to him and singles and doubles.

So no Djokovic or Murray there as usual. They play at Queens and Roger doesn't.

I wish you the best of luck for Halle and Wimbledon, remember: " train insane or remain the same".
